hi whitehouse folk,
We did enjoy our stay at the white house alot maybe for a few reasons. Probably most important were the folks behind the counter and some of the residents that stay there too. I'ts nice to go to a place where the staff are well, just normal people really, we only stayed five nights but always felt comfy talking away to the folk from day one which is what you need on a short trip where you'll probably not meet many local people. The staff had time for us which was appreciated and i also think they conveyed the easy new york vibe very well - especially mr. pitsburgh steelers cap who isn't a steelers fan and the super chilled older black guy, i don't know their names but both very good folk! It was also good to talk to miguel about harlem, u.s and european culture, it's not every day we can sit about for a few hours talking to people from the other side of the world, all very interesting. I guess the white house was a good place to get to meet local folk, which helps me to get a alot more out of new york than going shopping and some night clubs. Also a true bonus for us was meeting a few of the residents too. Going out for an evening with jeff paz was probably one of the best things we did out here, it was a top night away from the touristy areas with a genuinly good guy. Also the other resident with the long blond hair a la jeff was a good guy, the ten minuite/ half hour we talked to them every day just helped make the trip a better one.
I thought the rooms were good for the money, clean and safe with things you need. The location of the hotel was good too. I'd recommend the place to people and had a very good stay, so thanks alot.
Take it east and probably see you again sometime,

Thanks for the e-mail, my stay was only for 2 nights with the "bonus" of upgrading to a double room for my 2nd night...which was much appreciated considering the amount of shopping i had managed to accumulate in 48 hours! Traveling by myself, i always felt safe in the hotel & thought the bathroom facilities were perhaps the cleanest I'd experienced in a shared accommodation. I was very impressed with the hotel for the price and location and would recommend it to my friends.

It was a gud stay and we throughly enjoyed the accomodation. The place was well managed and the hygieneof the showers and toilets was superb. It was as was said no frills but was brilliant for access to all parts of Manhatten. I would just like to stay that im would recommend the hotel to anyone and it is great that you are looking also to improve the facilities.

My stay at the hostel was very enjoyable. It was very basic but that is what i expected for the price. Most importantly it was very safe and it was very clean, which was unexpected. The showers and toilets were always clean and that was a nice bonus. The rooms were very small but for value for money i could have no complaints. If i return to NY as a student I would not hesitate to return their. Thank-you.

works on weekends) was especially nice. So was the person working Monday
night last week. Her shift was just ending and she was nice enough to help me
out a lot. The person who usually works the days was also very nice. They are
all extremely friendly and very, very helpful. The fact that they were so
nice about changing my room persuaded me to stay there again when I have my
finals later this year. All I'll ask is that I get the same room because the
bed is comfy.

and an absolutley fabulous in New York. Everyone was so nice! I will

I also wanted to comment on the security of the hotel. It was excellent! I
always felt safe and that my belongings were secure.
Your staff was also very helpful in giving directions.
It might be nice idea to provide a list of the different restaurants in the
area so that when you get back to the hotel you don't have to wonder
aimlessly looking for a restaurant while starving.

hey, I just wanted to respond quickly and say that I really enjoyed my stay

moment because it wasn't what I expected, but then I learned that the beds
