We are pleased to announce the "Post-Pesach President's Matzo Weigh Off" featuring the current president of Congregation Ohab Zedek, Meyer Muschel, and the shul's immediate past president, Reuben Taub, both of whom acknowledge their respective personal needs to lose a significant amount of weight .
The Rules:
1You gotta pay to play. Sponsor our two competitors by committing to contribute per pound lost by one or both presidential contenders. With your sponsorship you not only help our shul and encourge the weight loss, but you get to join the competition by placing your "bets" below and additional bets before every weigh in held bi-weekly predicting who will lose more weight within each of the 4 weigh in segments of the competition. The competition will commence on April 29 and shall end on June 28. Inital ballots must be received by May 12.
2. The individual competitor who loses less weight over the 60 day period spanning the contest will have to make a $1,500.00 contribution to the shul. Failure to lose at least 15 pounds during the 60 day period shall result in a $2,000 contribution by the person failing to lose 15 pounds to the shul.
3. Penalties apply to each of the contestants for failure to keep 85% of the initial weight lost off after a six month period at which time there will be another weigh in. The penalty will be in the form of an additional $135 donation required for each pound gained back over and above the 15% allowance. ($135 is based upon "Matza" in gematria.
4. The sponsor who achieves the highest score by virtue of the predictions and the points associated with each will be treated to a dinner cooked personally by the well known chef, Ruby Taub. Meyer Muschel will serve as the waiter at that meal.
5. The "weigh ins" will be overseen by the Rav of Ohab Zedek, Rabbi Allen Schwartz.
6. Some predictions are due before the first "weigh in". Others will be due before each bi-weekly weigh in".
